Why Build A Booking Engine?

It started over a beer… then as the first beer finished the guys from 2am and umi Marketing’s Founder Steve Lowy decided that it would be a great idea to build our own booking engine.  umi Marketing’s old suppliers restricted what umi wanted to do, whether that was getting the stats of why they had loads of people on the site and they were dropping off, uploading a last minute special offer or the amount of commissions being paid out.

As the idea was discussed the possibilities of what could be done with with a bespoke booking engine became evident. It had to be quick, simple and visible taking the strain off the hotel hooking the system up with well known payment gateways so the hotels using the system don’t have the hassle of dealing with that.

After months of development umi set their new booking engine live first using the umi brand hotels, the booking engine was an immediate success, dramatically improving the online booking of the hotels. BookitWith was then implemented on the websites of a number of other accommodation provider’s websites which saw their sales grow dramatically.
